Fallout is based the Fallout video game franchise by Bethesda. I, for some reason, have never played the video games. The TV show takes place in the year 2296, 200 years after a nuclear war destroyed most of American society and forced people to escape in underground vaults, among other places. There are 3 main characters, in my opinion: Lucy McLean - lived all of her life up until this point in a vault; Maximus - a squire for the Brotherhood and a survivor of a nuclear blast in Shady Sands; and Cooper Howard - a ghoul who is well over 200 years old. There are other recurring characters, but most of the story involves them and they are intertwined within the plot. Lucy leaves her vault to find her father, who was kidnapped. Cooper is searching for his wife and daughter, who he believes were cryogenically preserved. Maximus wants to be a knight and serve the Brotherhood.

I have to say, this is not a kid friendly show. It's extremely violent, gory, and depicts the worst of what you can imagine would exist in a collapsed society 200 years after a nuclear war. Lucy is pretty much the only good person in this show. With that said, I did really enjoy the show and the story. I watched both seasons back to back and I may rewatch it when the next season comes out. If you can stomach some gore, or just know when to look away, like alternate history/timeline apocalyptic stories, you will likely enjoy this unique story.
